Social Media Is Breeding Imposter Syndrome But You Can Be Part Of The Cure. Here’s How:

If you spend your days on social media it’s no wonder the imposter syndrome strikes.

You’re surrounded by people celebrating huge wins day in, day out. Bragging about their bank balance. Celebrating new clients.

It can make you feel a bit shit!

But those 6-figure business braggers didn’t get where they are overnight.

It took a whole bunch of small wins to get the big ones. But small wins rarely get shared on social media. Which is a real shame.

Imagine how much imposter syndrome would subside if we were exposed to more of the small wins on social media each day.

3 things that should be celebrated more.

#1: When you’ve learnt something new

Even if it was something small you picked up in a Twitter thread.

When you’re surrounded by knowledge it’s important to notice that something new snuck into your brain. If you’ve managed to implement that new knowledge then shout about that as well. And then share it with others so they can benefit too!

#2: When you’ve made a new connection

Imagine how great it would feel if someone celebrated meeting you!

You can give that gift to someone else. And you should be celebrating all the relationships you’re making online. It’s no mean feat being surrounded by people day in, day out — even if you never see their faces!

#3: When you’ve knocked something off your to-do list

Why do we only celebrate when we finish the whole list?

Every single thing you knock off your list deserves a little celebratory dance. It means you’re making progress. And that’s massive!

So, if you’re waiting for permission to celebrate your small wins, this is it.

Be the change that helps put someone else’s imposter syndrome back in it’s box.
